Is passive smoking dangerous?
I couldn’t resist posting this. Yes, I’m sure it is skewed. And is possibly paid for by the tobacco companies (although Reason TV is fairly well respected so I’m not sure). But it is interesting how far the world has moved…
I’m not making a case here for going backward about smoking legislation. Regardless of the health issues, smoking is an unpleasant habit for non-smokers. Should it be legislated, though, or should we let the economy drive it (if smoke-free bars are genuinely what people want, then let bar owners make their own decisions. The public will decide and, possibly, force smoking bars to reconsider when they see people flocking to their competitors) I do think that there is a level of paranoia and political expediency that drives many of these decisions. And I don’t think that government has any place in playing nanny to adults who can make their own minds up.
Anyway, watch the video and decide for yourself.
